I NO LONGER FEEL GOOD.... I started my cut with the intention of dropping to the 57kg weight class for my meet in September. That’s 123lbs. I started out at 134lbs, which meant 10 lbs I would need to drop. I knew it was going to be a difficult and long road, but I was determined. What makes this more difficult than just the usual cut is my goal to maintain strength if not get stronger.
I’m now at 129 lbs and in such a deficit now that I feel tired and achy all the time. I’m hungry all the time. I just feel gross. My body LIKES being at 60kg (132lbs). I have the long term goal of going back to the weight, I just want to be that weight with more muscle mass and less fat. Hence the cut to 123lbs to shed that body fat and allow me wiggle room to gain muscle weight. But the question im having now is, “Is it worth it?” Is it really worth it to drop that much weight? Is it worth it to continue to feel gross, and hungry just to get down to this “ideal” bodyweight?
But my biggest question, “Is it worth it to lose some strength as I continue to lose weight?” As a Powerlifter, the goal is to move as much weight as possible for 1 rep! My training is driven by this end goal. So, I have to decide what is worth it to me. Just like YOU have to decide what is worth it to you! What is your ultimate goal and how willing are you to get there? Happy Tuesday!:) even though I feel gross, bench felt amazing today!!:):)
